Ramyalatha is one of the two stewardesses who worked in Unawatuna Beach Resort. She has no parents, and is living with her grandmother.Luckily her house has less damages only her kichen is washed off with all the furniture and equipments in the house. She wants some money to build her kitchen and to buy the essential furniture and kitchen items. The pictures show how her house was seen on the 28.02.2005.She has build a small kitchen with wood.I gave some money to build a good kitchen with cement blocks.Once she finish I will buy the equipments and furniture as she wish. You can see her standing in front of the house in which the windows and the doors are broken, and her grand mother is in the wooden kitchen which will be not hygenic during rain. All of them are living with one of ramya's aunts, who also has a Partly broken house

When I visited her on the 9.03.2005 she had bought Cement blocks ,Cement,Sand and stones which is necessary to build the kitchen and one room extra. There were people working in the kitchen area making the foundation. She is very good in her progress.and I issued more money and hope to issue some more money with her progress, to buy the equipments for daily living in the house.

When I wisited her on the15.03.2005 she had finished the kitchen and the extra room upto the roof level. She wanted some money to build the roof.I also took with me a Fibre door from colombo to fix to her kitchen.I also gave her some more money to build her roof.On the 1st of April when I visited her she has finished her house with the roof and she has started with the wall cement pasting.I bought the necessary items which they need to live in the house. Now they are almost finished everything.

I want to put them up in the new house before 13th of April which is the Sinhalese New Year.I think we can do it.Then They will see an auspicious time and enter the house with a small ceremeny to start living in it

.She wants to convey her thanks to all who helped her from the bottom of her heart..It was like a dream to her.She never thought that she can build the house and live in it so soon.she was so shy that she did not want to ask help also from anybody because she thought she should not bother anybody.I found her when she was in a state like that.

She earns from the hotel, only Rs.2500 a monthe and she gets service charge of Rs.2000 if the hotel is full but this is not enough for them to survive, now she doesn't get the service charge because there are no guests in the hotel.

She has a good basic education so she asked whether we can help her to do higher studies so that, she can find a better job.I thought to give her a scholarship from the Univarsity of maarstricht money to do an English Course to start her higher education..

To start the English course she has to go to colombo two times a week and it will cost Nearly Rs.25000.00 with the bus fare and the course fees. Her entrance exam to British Council is on the 01.07.2005.If she pass that exam she can join the Basic English course or the medium English course..

I think I can manage this money with the interest and other donation money if I put the Univarsity money in a fixed deposite. Also I can do it every year to some other children also, who need financial help for studies.I think to continue this as long as I can every year.
