There are some more items to buy.Also I wanted to spend some of the money for toilet repairs,and to repair the electrical line,but I got the information, that the managing board, have decided to demolish the old building, and put up a new building.If it happens, and if we spend on this,I will be wasting your money.I will wait, and see the progress and spend accordingly.

Second set of donations were made on the 10.02.2005 which consisted of

Special Educational toys for the mentally retarted which they have not recieved since they started this school.Most of the items you donated were things which they have not even seen earlier.They are really happy to have it and even the teachers who were not very interested earlier are convinced that they have what is necessary and willing do some new work with the children.The children were also very happy on the first day 01.02.2005 when they saw all the donations.they cannot express their joy because most of them cannot speak well, and cannot express themselves, but we can see, from their eyes that they are enjoying it.I think, this is one of the great scenes, I have ever seen.When people cannot express their feelings, how they express themselves.All the past they were just neglected and did't have the oportunity to use any modern methods, for learning, because of the lack of equipments. all what they could do was to cut pieces of paper in different shapes ,do some games and to sing.

They are taking the maximum use of the cassette deck you donated,they are highly thrilled, to sing using the cassettes, also it is useful for the teachers to speak to a big audience of students.Everyday in the morning they use it for religeous observations before they start the school.

You all, who donated, can be happy of evry thing what you have donated.Below are the items you donated.

I think they will make use of the computer also in a better way to keep all the recoords and files.I want to give them an Electronic camera to get the expressions and their activities in a memorable album to keep in the computer.and also it will be helpfull for them to keep records of vissual developments of each student.Also to keep an identity. they don't have any vissual records,of the students who lost their lives from tsunami,because they didn't have the facility earlier.No one evn have a photo of them.

There is another Japanese organisation which they are willing to buy Educational toys for mentally and physically handicapped Children and similar Equipments to the school ,but they don't know from where they can get them down.In Sri lanka we don't have them very much.

They are going to make a musical group comprising with the mentally retarded and Physically haandicapped Children.This they did not have earlier.Now they have the instruments, and are convinced to do it.Anytime if you or your friends visit this school they will show a small concert with all the instruments, you donated to them.That is their wish.This was revealed when I spoke with the teachers.The normal school times are from 8.00 A.M to 2.00 P.M.
